BREAKING: Officer-involved shooting on I-5 in Cottonwood

COTTONWOOD, Calif. - The northbound lanes of I-5 were completely shut down for a period of time early Saturday morning due to an officer-involved shooting near Sunset Hills Drive in Cottonwood.
A detective on the scene confirmed that the incident was "officer involved." The detective also stated he can't confirm anything more at the time because "this could take awhile."
An ambulance was seen leaving the scene with a police escort.
Just before 1:00 a.m. the number one lane was reopened to traffic for a short period of time.
